BarkThread listens to your pet and gives them their say. Upload a clip and pick the energy: a warm, honest read of what your pet is feeling, or let them spin around and roast the human holding the camera. Every mode runs on one hard rule. The animal is never the joke.
Two ways to play
Interpret: the original
This is where BarkThread began. Upload a short audio or video clip of your pet, and BarkThread analyses the sound of their voice across four emotional dimensions: warmth, certainty, intensity, and coherence. It reads posture and body language from the footage too, then turns all of it into a plain, affectionate account of what your pet seems to be feeling in that moment. No judgment, no gimmicks. Just your pet, finally getting a word in.
Bitesback: the pet claps back
Flip the switch and the tables turn. In Bitesback mode your pet stops explaining themselves and starts explaining you. Same clever read, pointed in a funnier direction: the animal has seen the footage, formed opinions, and is ready to share them. Each roast lands as a punchy headline, a body, and a mic-drop closer, built to screenshot and share.
Bitesback comes in three intensities, so you decide how hard your pet goes:
Wholesome Pup Free
Warm, fond, lightly teasing. A mate who ribs you and then buys you a beer. Family-friendly, zero profanity, always ends on a loving note.
Judgmental Bastard M15+
Cold, dry, surgical. Clever burns with a bit of bite and the odd swear. The animal is deeply, visibly unimpressed. Sign-in required.
You Sick Puppy 18+
Full send. Unhinged, filthy, gloriously mean adult comedy for grown-ups who can take it. An age gate and an intensity dial (Moderate, Default, Unhinged) keep you in charge of how far it goes. Premium.
The one rule: animals are never the target
Every roast is aimed squarely at the human. The Animal Welfare Shield runs on every upload and blocks anything that shows an animal in genuine distress. Your pet is always the confident narrator, never the punchline. Comedy at the human's expense, never the animal's.
